Were you a fan of any sports teams as a child?

Never a straight yes/no answer is there? When we were children we did not have the huge amount of media coverage of all sorts of sports that there is nowadays. We did not have television, so coverage of sports events was limited to some live radio and to newspaper reporting. I remember national cricket being broadcast, and soccer games but my dad wasn't interested so it was never a big issue..

Wimbledon was another big draw, again on the radio if you wanted the 'live ' action.... hard to imagine isn't it, the commentators had to describe every move or shot, and you had to visualize it! Once there was television, the coverage of sporting events was more generally available and supporting a team was more popular. However, my memories are much more of being involved in sports and supporting school teams than that of any professional sports teams.
