What are some of your favorite smells?

OK... this is going to be a short one..... Smells can be so evocative, they can transport us back years in an instant......so three smells that leap to mind and memory are: * Raspberry jam - bubbling and cooking on the stove... I am right back in my Granny’s kitchen at 9. Alexandra Street, Alyth.

It was dark, a small window on the west side of the house. But there is the jam, it’s summer time and the fields are full ripening raspberries and berry pickers, we are on holiday at my grandparent’s house and that fresh new jam on fresh new slabs of bread and butter....mmmm.... * fresh sea air - winds off the North Sea, or the English Channel, whipping the salty air, chilling your legs in winter and in summer....but nothing quite like it....My Dad used to say ‘Blaw the weans noses, and let them get aw' the fresh air they can”! * new baby smell.....I’m sure I don’t need to say any more there:-)
