What are your favorite tv shows?

Hmmm.......well, as you know we do not have cable TV so the programs that we watch on the TV screen are things that Jim has downloaded in the hope that we WILL enjoy them, so there's a bit of preselection there. We both enjoy being able to choose what you want to watch when you want to watch it and have no time for the network TV stations and the constant intrusion of advertising. I enjoy a good crime/mystery drama, 'Wallender', 'Shetland', 'Broadchurch' was excellent - and, in a lighter vein, The Last Detective is very well done, with some very plausible characters that have been well developed over the series.

I enjoy a good travel documentary, the 'Coast' series has been interesting but for really excellent presentation and insight into some very varied subject matter, Michael Wood takes the prize for me. Planet Earth and the like, are always interesting for the photography, including some incredible wildlife shots. British TV still produces some incredible drama series,'The White Queen' springs to mind, and things like ''Downton Abbey', 'Who do you think you are?' and 'Call the Midwife' have whiled away an evening.

'Great British Bakeoff' or some of the cookery shows are good to relax to. For a light filler, 'QI' with Stephen Fry or 'Would I Lie to You' are always good to make you giggle. Any more than this and you are going ot think I spend my spare time glued to the box!
