What games did you play when you were young?
When I stop to think about it, the games we played were the same as children still play, tag, hide & seek, dressing up.... we also played skipping games in the street or in the school yard. There was a ball game called 'Jacks' that I enjoyed too because there was a bit of skill involved. As I think of it, the biggest difference between then and now was the amount we played outside in the street, which is just not doable now with all the street traffic.
Indoor board games were things like 'Sorry' and 'Monopoly',or 'Snakes & Ladders' and 'Snap' or 'Happy Families', though we were not great card palers in our family. Then along came school and free play time diminished but all the pleasures of reading and writing filled the gap and as we got older the independant pleasures of things like bike riding took over. Being retired is a bit like being a kid again, in that once more you have time to 'play' at the things you like!!
