What is some of the best advice your mother ever gave you?

Funny really, my parents were not prone to giving me advice…. I think they probably knew me well enough that unsolicited advice/ suggestions would not be well received…. The only thing I ever remember Mum saying that could be construed as ‘advice’ was the quote from Scarlett O’Hara in ‘Gone with the Wind’…. 'Tomorrow is another day ‘……..It is still the best mantra I know of for dealing with life’s ups and downs and I have recalled it on many occasions to help put things back into a needed perspective.

Dad on the other hand had some lovely sayings which stay with me. ‘Never run after buses or men…. there’s always another one coming behind’….. 'If you sit amongst the crows you’ll get shot at’… that one a good reminder to choose your friends carefully ( as a teenager)! Advice is not always best received … even when it is asked for!
