Who is the wisest person youve known what have you learned from them?
If you are talking about the person whose values you share or shared the most, in relation to your own, I think for me it would have to be a parent, therefore probably my Mum, whom I think I was closest to. Mum was very even tempered and I believe was very content with her life. She said she had had a very happy childhood and I know she was always confident that she was loved by my Dad. Her home life gave her great security.
Her wisdom came from all of this and she was always able to understand and support, and share her life experiences. One of her favourite expressions was 'Tomorrow is another day'......which applies to so many of life's challenges or disappointments - I think of it often. The greatest lesson learned I learned from her is that letting go of whatever - doesn't mean caring less, more it implies a confidence that all shall be well, and all shall be well.......
Check out the wisdom of Julian of Norwich: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_of_Norwich The saying, "All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well", which Julian claimed to be said to her by God himself, reflects her theology. It is one of the most famous lines in Catholic theological writing and is one of the best-known phrases of the literature of her era. ' (Wikipedia')........now there's a wise person it might have been good to know.
