Do you know what your first words were?

My first 'words' were probably the usual baby 'babble'..... but my Mum used to tell one story about when I was beginning to string word together and said very firmly....' do it no ' ne self' (' no ' ne' rhymes with ' own' ) Roughly translated I think it means: 'thankyou very much for your well meaning offer of assistance, but I am perfectly capable of doing it without help'. I think they were taken aback at the time, but many years on with hindsight, realised that I was setting the tone for most of the things that I later chose to do in life.......!!!

NB the character traits that you see in your infant offspring, you will probably see repeated throughout the years ahead!!
