What is the furthest you have ever traveled?

I imagine the actual furthest we have travelled from home would be the South Island of New Zealand when Dad & I spent a month in 2005 travelling with a camper van. There was some amazing geography and scenery and all packed into such a small space. In terms of travel time, our Africa trip in 2012 was a pretty long haul, though we did break up Campbell River to Nairobi with a stop over in Amsterdam on the way out and visit to the gang in Turkey on the way home.

I don't actually remember what the hours in the air looked like. The longest continuous travel we did I think was a return trip from Bali. We checked our bags in at a little tin hut airport and I thought we were probably saying goodbye to them forever.... but, Denpasar, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Campbell River 32 hours later there they were!...and thank goodness for melatonin! The place that felt like the furthest place on earth from where we live was probably Aitutaki in the Cook Islands, an atoll with an incredible blue lagoon and white sand beach, a speck in the ocean 35 minutes by small plane from Raratonga and a way of life so far from how we know it.
