What places can you travel to over and over again?

We have done so much travelling over the years and always look forward to something new and different. For somewhere that I/ we would travel to over and over again, there has to be a particular reason. Over the years we spent a lot of time travelling back and forth to England, obviously to visit with parents and family. Now that that is not of such critical imprtance, we are left with the places that we really want to go to.

I love Alyth as you know and it is still a place I would go to where i feel very happy and at home, it has so many happy memories. Dad & I enjoy time in Eastbourne, it is very familiar and is a real 'downtime' spot for us when we are usually racing to fit in the rest of the vacation committments. It goes without saying that we are so very fortunate in being able to stay in Sheila and David's lovely flat. This side of the Atlantic as you know we love the Florida sunshine in the rainy, dark, short days of winter, and are always happy to go back to the familiarity of Bowman's Beach on Sanibel Island.

Closer to home, our go to getaway spot is of course Hornby Island. Dating from our busy working days it has always felt as though we are leaving all the other things behind when we step onto the Denman Ferry at Buckley Bay, and by the time we are approaching the dock on Hornby we could be a million miles away. People say to us how we are always so lucky with the weather when we go to Hornby, but there is a secret.... weather forecasts. We are very much fairweather campers, and now we are retired we can choose what looks like a weather window and head with the VW to Bradsdadsland, preferably at the beginning or tail end of the season when the crowds have dissipated, to sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the sunsets or hike around the spectacular cliffs of Helliwell Park.

Other 'again and again' places... Victoria, Portland, Istanbul.... all for obvious reasons!
