What were your friends like in high school?
You know, I don’t really remember having a lot of ‘friends’ in high school. School was for work and learning and homework, and that didn’t for me translate to friends I kept up with outside of school. My ‘friends' as a teenager, my social life, was much more centred around the church youth groups, the ‘Young Presbyterians’ and the older group the ‘Fellowship of Youth’ from Trinity Presbyterian Chuch in Bromley, Kent. Social life was for the weekends, not during the week or at school.
So, my ‘friends' were a diverse group, mostly whose parents attended the church and who didn’t necessarily live around our neighbourhood. It was a very ‘safe’ group from my parents’ perspective, well organised, with adult Group Leaders, all I suppose intended to keep us out of trouble. That said we did have well organised fun, and the individual personalities all contributed to the good times!
